What are referred to as the Kona Coast FMAs is a collection of four FMAs within a relatively short distance from each other and all having the same rules. What makes these different from other FMAs is that their seaward boundary is not marked by visual landmarks, such as points of land or rock outcroppings. The seaward boundaries of all these areas are marked by an ocean depth of 100 fathoms (600 ft.)
